Streamline Safety, Elevate Compliance:
BAHSO, Your OSHA Ally!

“BAHSO” is MCA Consulting’s proprietary electronic management system. A web-based portal that provides an administrative interface to manage locations, users, and documentation requirements for OSHA Compliance. It is a secure portal that solely manages OSHA required employee data collection, validation, and reporting.

BAHSO provides a growing number of invaluable solutions.

1. OSHA Recordkeeping (Injury & Illness Wizard) – this tool makes it easier to gather and confirm data needed for OSHA’s 300 Log, Form 301, and Form 300A. It also ensures accurate tracking of job restrictions or time off. Annual reporting to OSHA is streamlined, reducing the chance of errors when submitting required data like 300A.

Regulation Explanation:

29 CFR 1904 requires employers to record work-related injuries and illnesses on 3 unique and separate forms. OSHA Form 300 (OSHA Log) records and tracks injury/illness outcomes throughout the year. The OSHA form 301 tracks more specific data about each individual case. The form 300A is an annual summary that must be certified and posted. Starting in 2024, OSHA will require all 3 forms from the previous year to be submitted electronically by March 2nd.

2. Respiratory Protection – this tool allows employers to send text messages to employees, prompting them to watch a respiratory protection training video and complete the medical questionnaire. The completed questionnaire is then securely sent to a qualified medical provider for review. Based on the responses, the provider determines if the employee can proceed to respirator fit-testing. The review results are shared with the employer while maintaining confidentiality of medical information.

Regulation Explanation:

29 CFR 1910.134(e) requires facilities to train and medically evaluate employees who are required to wear a respirator for an identified respiratory hazard. Before wearing a respirator, each employee must be trained and then complete OSHA’s medical questionnaire form and have it reviewed by a Licensed Healthcare Professional. Based on the employee’s answers, the medical professional will either clear the employee to wear a respirator, give limitations, or require further medical evaluation to be completed. An employee’s medical questionnaire must remain confidential.

3. Employer/Employee Documentationthis tool helps gather, review, and store needed documents. It also flags any missing items and can set reminders for timely action.

Different OSHA standards have varying record retention periods. For instance, OSHA 300 logs need to be kept for 5 years, while bloodborne training records should be retained for at least 3 years. OSHA usually requires annual reviews of safety programs and employee refresher training. Any updates in policies, procedures, or operations may call for additional employee training. OSHA logs, safety training records, updated safety programs, and policies need to be consistently maintained and updated across the organization.

This tool allows companies to define which records to keep and store securely. BAHSO administrators can also spot any missing or improperly retained records."

Security:

All data is encrypted and user access to data is controlled by the authorized facility. Multi-factor authentication protects access to the portal and all interactions with the portal are audited. Because the portal is web-based, no special software or updates are required beyond a modern web browser.
